In these pictures you can see how our society is now whether it's the architecture or technology. Putting the photos in black and white added another element. Since they are black and white you don't focus on the color you focus on the photo itself and whats in the photo. I chose not to put the photo on the left, in black and white because the desaturation took away from the photo. The top left photo has a vintage feel to it which I really enjoy. You can see a homeless man in the righthand corner which adds a sense of how our society is in the 21 century. You can also see an example of our society in the left picture with the woman talking on her cellphone by herself. And the bottom left picture you can see our architecture and cars. The photo is a great example of Lines and Variety. I think all three pictures capture a glimpse of our society and will be great to look back on in the future when technology and architecture has advanced.

reflection.
For this assignment my phrase was "If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all." The flowers represent the nice things people say. The model, Alicia, is coving her mouth with the flowers to show that you should always say something nice before you something you will regret later. I think I could have made this image stronger by moving the focal point and the point of view to focus more on the flowers. Right now, the focal point is more of her hands which is taking away from the meaning of the photo. I also think I could have been closer to Alicia to create more of a bond between the subject and the viewer because right now the image was taken far away so it disconnects the subject and the viewer.

collage.
At first the collage assignment was difficult for me, but we progressed the assignments got easier. The quilt collage I think I had the most difficultly with just because the colors I chose didn't compliment each other as well as I would have wanted. Overall I was very frustrated and disappointed with the quilt collage. My three monochromatic collages are all minimalistic which is not something I normally do, but I enjoyed the result of trying something new. I also wanted to connect them all in some way, so I added triangles to them. I think that my last monochromatic collage, the brown, is the strongest out of the three because it is the simplest and as a whole it is the most balanced.
